I’ve written a lot recently about the power of knowing WHO you are and now I’m going to talk about WHAT you are.  Why?  Because I believe we are so close to other organic entities in nature that we can use the energy of the changing seasons to help us to move forward toward our goals and dreams.

So, how does the shift from one season to the next affect us?  Note, I’m no biologist, so please don’t contact me if this next bit is slightly unscientific!

At the most basic level, we are a rather fantastic combination of elements – hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorous accounting for 99% with a lot of others making up the rest.  And it’s possibly not a coincidence that these same elements also make up the air (nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide and a bit of hydrogen), earth (oxygen, silicon, aluminium, iron, calcium, and other elements), water (hydrogen and oxygen), plants (water, organics containing carbon, and non-carbon-containing elements including potassium and nitrogen) – can you spot a theme here…

Yep, we contain roughly the same elements as most other naturally occurring things, and while the form they take is very different, essentially, we are nature and nature is us!

Where on earth is she going with this, I hear you think?  Well, All the above are part of nature, and nature, with all its flora, fauna, environment and weather has phases where it grows, blooms, matures, and rests. We call them seasons.  And, just as nature shifts focus and activity from one season to the next, so do we, even if we are not consciously aware of it.

I cover this in much more detail in my Seasonal Shift™ workshops but basically, the shift from season to season can help us achieve our goals by using the changing energy to review and to be active and productive in what we want to get done in this new season.

For example, in the northern hemisphere, we are about to shift from Spring to Summer.  This is a time when we move from creating ideas, making plans, and working on new projects or goals into a more structured phase where those plans develop, grow, mature, and bloom.  We have more energy from the stronger sun, longer days, warmth and, this is certainly true for me, we are outside more so are closer to nature more than during the other seasons.

Like me, you may also find that you are more in tune with your inner self and who you are deep down at this time of year – maybe because we are wearing less so are more open and unencumbered by those layers of clothing!

Those of you in the southern hemisphere are shifting from Autumn to Winter and this is a time for evaluation, for decluttering, a time to rest, recover your energy, and start to make plans ready for the Spring which will burst upon you soon enough. It’s also a great time to look back and analyse what got done and what didn’t over the previous six months.

Doing this around 21st June (the summer or winter solstice) means you are more likely to be in tune with the natural energy shifts that occur around this time.  And this means your seasonal or quarterly review can be more aligned, so you get closer to your goals and falling back in love with life.

I’ll be giving some ideas for how to use this energy shift in my Facebook group, @fabnewlousfemales on 21 June so if you are in there, watch out for me!
